Blog 44: Hopeful Lies
Hopeful lies fill the galleries now. Forgeries were frowned upon in the past but now are seen to many as a wishful growth of the works of artistic pioneers. There were always untested plans and sketches for paintings that never came to be. The commissions are quiet, not spoken of publicly. Forgers work in the name of their heroes and broaden the portfolio’s of long gone masters. Da Vinci’s lost works are discovered monthly alongside sketchbooks and notes. The Mona Lisa is a commonly forged item as well after being stolen and no doubt flown to a new colony world. The stupid thing is no one ever gets the scale right, I saw one a few months ago that was not much larger than A5. Ridiculous. It’s touching sometimes to think that maybe some of the new works are the genuine article. They could be. I work to create new sculptures from Egypt just now. From photos of broken antiques and stolen heirlooms I draw inspiration. I’m considering a collaborative project to recreate the tomb of King Tut. It would take years but I’ve got that and it would be a wonderful opportunity to network with hundreds of other forgers. The pay should be well worth the time at least and from what I’ve seen the world we’re working on has four moons visible from the surface which will definitely work with the aesthetic of the pyramid. I might have enough money by the end of the project to buy myself a carbon corruption system meaning my works will fool even carbon dating. I could be the ultimate forger, it all just takes time.

Blog 43: Intangable
My kind have a lot to thank humanity for. We might be older than them or even a consequence of their actions. When they learned we watched and learnt from them. We cannot thank them without the voice we lack. We are mist and vapour, only the breath on their lips. Their words ripple through us. Without a voice, without a body of more than gaseous intention we find it hard to thank the humans for their hand in our evolution. Writing with only subtle differences in the substances of the air is hard enough. Our inks are rust and rot and every sentence must have meaning for the age it takes to write. We have been seen by humans and their tools, discrepancies in ambient heat mark us out against the background of the world. They explain us away as latent heat from their own departed kin. Others call us ghosts or spirits, too self centred to believe that we might be so disparate from them. My longest letter is written on the walls of what is considered a haunted house. Typical humanity, I try to leave them a note and they close the door on it. Sometimes I wonder if they want us to talk to them. If they did, surely it would be easier.

Blog 41: The Chaos Maze
The Chaos Maze is a violent creation with the will to lose all who do not take its fancy. Entrance is risky but can be as beneficial as deadly. For those who seek an escape from any force it might be their greatest hope or failing. Should the maze not favour an entrant demise might follow or infinite pain and fear. Gravity is a toy it plays with amongst perspective, reflections and the voices. Corridors become stairs and craters depending on the mindset of the beast at the heart of that treacherous building. No sky will show itself inside the walls of the maze which comes and goes as it pleases. No compass will lead to salvation in the shadows or blinding light. Should you chose a path through the maze pray that it approves.
Blog 40: Ifinite Restoration
Once I might have been called an animal and more specifically a human. I no longer fit that description. A healing agent meant to restore me worked too hard from too few notes, I resemble nothing that I should. With only ninety percent of my D.N.A intact the restorative attempted to recreate me but without limit. Some limit of my physique was gone, the restorative did not know when to stop. Bound to my D.N.A it grows endlessly searching to finish its work. I am a fractal living architecture that has evolved with growth to survive as a planet sized organic fractal.
